As a therapist I have specialized in various styles of therapy. I have trained in CBT, Mindfulness, Inner Child work, Psychodrama and EMDR therapy along with many other types of theraputic styles and tools.
CBT or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Is a an evidence based style of therapy that has empirical research and data supporting its effectiveness. CBT is a psychotherapy tool used to change thoughts patterns as a goal to in turn change behavioral patterns.
EMDR is a specialized style of therapy. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a powerful psychotherapy approach that has helped over an estimated two million people of all ages relieve many types of psychological distress. The current treatment guidelines of the American Psychiatric Association and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies designate EMDR as an effective treatment for post traumatic stress. EMDR combines different elements of many effective therapies to maximize treatment effects. EMDR uses a procedure that reduces the intensity of the traumatic images, reduces the emotional response to the disturbing memories, and aids in development of healthy coping and positive self-concept.
Psychodrama is an active and creative therapeutic approach developed by Dr. Jacob Moreno. Psychodrama can be used in a group or individual setting and it is helpful for trauma, grief, addictions and other issues.
